Who we are

Owner/operator, Ryan Shankland.

For more than 30 years, I’ve worked as a carpenter, builder, and hands-on problem solver—shaping homes across Michigan with a commitment to quality, function, and craftsmanship. My entire career has been built on one simple principle: do it right, or don’t do it at all.

Based on the western edge of Washtenaw County, In the country side of Clnton Mi , serving home owners in Southeastern Mi

I approach every project with deliberate, thoughtful planning because great results aren’t an accident. They come from understanding the home, respecting the structure, anticipating needs, and laying out a plan that leads to a flawless finish. Whether it’s a full kitchen or bathroom remodel, a deck rebuild, a siding upgrade, or a small repair, the same level of detail and care goes into every job.

Clients consistently tell me they value how easy I am to work with. I’m straightforward, patient, accommodating, and genuinely invested in the experience you have throughout the project—not just the outcome. Renovations can be stressful, so my goal is to make the process smooth, clear, and predictable. Communication matters. Cleanliness matters. Showing up matters. And the way your space feels when it’s done matters most.

I believe craftsmanship should stand the test of time. Your home should function beautifully for years—not just look good on day one. That means using the right materials, the right methods, and giving attention to the details no one else notices. It’s what separates a project that simply gets finished from one that’s truly built with conscious integrity.

Shankland Renovation is growing, and while I may be the one leading the work today, the values stay the same no matter how the team expands: craftsmanship, honesty, reliability, and care for every home and every family we work with.

If you’re looking for a contractor who takes pride in the work, respects your space, and treats your project like it matters, you’re in the right place.
